In 2014, Dean McConnell was engaged by Klipsch Group, Inc. to defend the company against patent infringement claims asserted by Sapphire Dolphin, LLC  (U.S. District Court for Delaware, Case No. 1:14-cv-286-SLR) involving Bluetooth® audio products. Sapphire alleged that certain portable wireless music players sold by Klipsch infringed on two patents the company held allegedly covering Near Field Communication (“NFC”) technology.  Klipsch denied any liability for infringement of the patents-in-suit.  Dean McConnell successfully defended the company and resolved the lawsuit by obtaining a dismissal of the case against his client.
